Immigrated to Canada in 1906 through the port of Halifax. Rode horseback through Regina when only the Simpson building was there. Worked as an electrician: S of Brandon MB, Regina SK, Calgary AB, Banff AB and Lake Minnewanka AB. Was visiting Turkey Read on the station platform at Pense in 1908, on his way to Panama. Got convinced to stay at Pense. Worked for John Read at Stony Beach for nearly a year before his marriage. Lived/farmed 2 or 3 farms in the Two Rivers District.
